Multiple Events for Smithsonian Exhibit, “Exit Saigon, Enter Little Saigon”

What: Boat People SOS (BPSOS) Delaware Valley and Asian Art Initiative, is hosting the Smithsonian exhibition called “Exit Saigon, Enter Little Saigon,” the first of its kind in Philadelphia.

When:  April 6 to June 12

Why: The “Exit Saigon” exhibition is part of the Smithsonian Asian Pacific American Program in Washington, D.C., and has traveled throughout the United States. “Exit Saigon” tells the story of how the Vietnamese community adapted to life in the United States.

  • April 6-June 1: See the exhibit at the Asian Arts Initiative (1219 Vine St, Philadelphia, PA 19107), where the exhibition will be free to the public.
  • May 4: BPSOS Delaware Valley’s Advisory Board is hosting “Community and Connections” at 6pm, a networking night for Vietnamese professionals and community members learn and has conversations about the local Vietnamese community.
  • June 1: The closing reception and award ceremony of BPSOS’s first ever “Youth in Action” scholarship recipient, and Đàn Tranh, a Vietnamese traditional instrument, performance from Ngo Thanh Nhan, Ph.D. (linguistic), a visiting professor of New York University, and Temple University.
